Colonel Hill pillar is a Historical monument situated in Honnavara town. This monument is built by East India company in Honnavara in honour of their Colonel who lost his life in battle at Jog falls for mysore division.

It is a 30 Miter tall column buit by the 14th madras native infantry on behalf of the East India company to honour Colonel Hill.

History:

On Jan 20, 1845 Colonel Clement Hill, aged 63 died at the Jog falls while serving in combat for the Mysore Division. He was buried in Honnavara on Jan 22. His loyal conine companion also lost his life at the same battle. They both are buried under this pillar. This pillar is 170 years old.
